Welcome to MAS@UIC Group
We are youth division of Muslim American Society, an organization on the UIC campus. Muslim American Society (MAS) traces its
historical roots back to the call of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Its more recent roots, however, can be traced to the Islamic revival movement
which evolved at the turn of the twentieth century.
Our
mission here at UIC is to move young people to strive for God-consciousness and
social justice and convey Islam with utmost clarity. There are many ways in which we try to
achieve our goal and mission. Some of MAS Youth's signature projects include MY
(MAS Youth) Give and MY Bridge. MYG's motto is " Serve the Creator by
serving His creation". To demonstrate the relationship between faith
and activism, MY Give mobilizes young people and instills the Islamic spirit of
social responsibility. The MY Give project organizes regular community service
activities for volunteers, from building low-income housing to planting trees.
MY Bridge is a way to try to connect with our community and "bridging" a path
between us. One of these MY Bridge projects is the Muhammad Awareness
Campaign.

MAS Youth launched the Muhammad
(pbuh), The Orphan who Adopted the World campaign to encourage young
Muslims to educate their peers about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The campaign is
an educational and hands-on initiative, equipping youth with an array of
resources and materials to teach others about their Prophet. MAS Youth chapters
are actively promoting the campaign on college campuses across the country and
we are proud to say that MAS at UIC will present their own Muhammad Awareness
Campaign . Included in our week long
campaign will be lectures discussing the different aspects of Prophet Muhammad
(pbuh). We will also include some
cultural aspects including henna.
